Jesse Boyd Elementary School is proud to be in the heart of the Hillbrook neighborhood on the eastside of Spartanburg. Jesse Boyd Elementary School works hard to provide our community with opportunities to be a part of our school. Our students also make an impact on our community. Students have taken on many projects in an effort to help serve our community. Jesse Boyd students have volunteered at a local children’s shelter, soup kitchen, and helped build our school’s nature trail. Students have also raised money for needy members of our community. Students have also organized efforts to help supply needs for our local animals shelter, soup kitchens, and needy families. Our students have also organized healthy living events such as before and afterschool walking programs as well as a community 5K.
As an International Baccalaureate school, our students are committed to making a difference in their world. IBPYP is unapologetic in its quest to help students develop critical thinking and creativity skills that enable students to take self initiated action based on their learning. Jesse Boyd students embody the characteristics of the IB Learner profile that include principled, risk-taking, caring, knowledgeable, balanced, communicators, inquirers, reflective, thinkers and open minded. Students often purpose student led action and explore ways in which they can make a difference in our school, our community, and in our world.
To that effect, Jesse Boyd is always in search of organizations and causes that our students can be of assistance. If you have affiliation with any of these organizations, we ask that you contact our school by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
